We're going to Wemmmmmmmmm-----be---rrr----(wait for ittt)----leyyyyyyy!!!

What a match it was last night. I still couldn't believe that i've watch the 2nd leg semi final carling cup match at Anfield and it was one of my best nights ever!! I'm still buzzing and feeling euphoric and could dance around in my room gleefully.

On the day me and my friends went to Liverpool, we arrived early in the afternoon, roughly around 12pm, so we had a lot of time to walk around and enjoy the city. Our first destination was Tesco (this is mainly because they still have the 1 pound for 5 snickers bar promo), the Albert Dock, and followed by the Liverpool eye (we paid 5.50 pounds- student price), The Beatles story museum and store, Liverpool one and the official Liverpool club shop and finally, Anfield, the holy ground for the mighty reds.

We came inside the stadium quite early, as it was dark outside and raining, so there was no point in lingering around. As soon as I've arrived and came inside, I can feel the smell of victory, the sound of the loud kopites singing and the electric vibes of the upcoming match. The seats at the stadium are very narrow so its quite hard for us to move and about but that didn't deter our spirits to enjoy the whole 90 minutes.

During the match, everyone was singing loudly, especially at the kop end and everytime the Man City fans sang or cheered, kopites will reply them back with a chant or our own song. I love the "We only hate Mancs, we only hate Mancs. We're not racists, we only hate Mancs" song. When City gave two goal frights against us in the first and second half of the match, kopites in the stadium sang their heart out, trying to lift the spirits of The Reds. I screamed my head off when Bellamy scored the 2nd goal and my word, it was a very good goal indeed. When the final whistle comes to a close, everyone in the stadium were singing You Never Walk Alone and holding out their scarfs and waving it around. It was such a spectacular atmosphere. Credits to all Redmen on the pitch tonight, they work their socks off- and not forgetting the fans too!!

Liverpool Vs Man City

Finally! I'm going to watch a Liverpool match at Anfield!!

It's been a dream come true for me, as a Liverpool fan, to watch my favorite team play at their home ground. It's a match between the big bucks, Man Citeh and its the semi-final of the carling cup!!

The ticket costs 39 pounds and the trip to Liverpool itself cost another 21 quid so there's a lot of spending there, but, heck, given the circumstances, it's a one in a lifetime experience! I'll be watching the match with two of my friends, Kuna and Muadz.

Though I still have exams next week, i'd probably take this as a day off and give myself a treat. I'll post the pictures of the trip to Liverpool and inside Anfield after the match.

Can't wait!!

Hopefully it'll be like those special european nights in Anfield!!

Lamak dah sik klaka Sarawak oh.

Kedong dah klaka Sarawak, lekak apa yang terjadi marek time exam, tok aku mok ngerepak pasal sigek gik benda..and tok pasal analyzation aku pasal orang putih lekak diam semester dengan sidak tok.

Seriously, sidak nang pengotor tahap gila babi ku madah ngan takorang (orang UK dikpun, especially). Nang pengotor tahap dewa..tahap cipan..tahap sun wu kong..tahap semualah. Well, most of them. Apa yang takorang baca dalam newspaper pasal orang putih tok bersihlah apalah..thats total bullshit. Ok, mungkin kat dalam rumah ajak kali sidak tok pengotor.

Sidaknya lekak masak bukannya tauk cuci ngan basuh..engkah suma tapak ngan mangkok dalam singki. Tandah beberapa hari gik ya and ada sidak kawanku kat flat atas crita teruk gik..kotan dah malas gilak muang sampah..engkah plastic sampah kat dapur.

"Ko expect orang mok muang pake kawu kah bro? Ingat aku kuli kawu kah?"

Mun tong sampah penuh..bukan sidak mok muang juak pun. Kadang2 aku diam sitok rasa macam apa jak. Students International rajin and most of them ngemas..yang aku sikpaham sidak orang UK dikpun pahal sidak molah flat kedak rumah dikpun? Atleast consideratelah sikit. Ada orang lain juak diam sitok Ok? Mun sidak berparti, hanco sigek flat, nang sik kemas ngan nang kedak kandang kambin pasya. Last2, kamekorang juak nguci pake takorang n kenak anok ngan cleaner.

Sidak kawan ku kat flat atas angol ngan sidak miak flat2 lain yang datang masak..(kamekorang ok jak mun sidak flatlain datang masak..kadang2 aku pun masak ngan sidak juak) tapi masalahnya, yes, its the same thing again..mun masak ngan kawan, kawan ya dikpun juak malas mok basuh..dahla sidak baruk jak berparti beberapa hari lepas..n kmkorang nak masak pun susah.

Kira malam marek mok masak kat flat aku..since kotor gilak kat flat atas. Terkejut ku nanga sidak flat atas ngan flat dibah masak kat flat aku.. n gotcha! Singki penuh dengan mangkok ngan tapak..yoshhh, tok nang nguji kesabaran lah pok.

Bad Day

How worse could your day be?

Everyone usually have one of those totally bad days in their lives. Probably once in a while, or maybe two.

Well today wasn't a day to be as today was that day where I experience one of the worst days of my life.

(Err...kinda..=p)

Actually, it would be like any normal day, unless if I didn't sat for the wrong set for exams and wasted precious amount of time. Personally, the exam wasn't really that hard, but I didn't managed to answer them all since I got my time really restricted due to exchange of talks, papers and some investigations with the invigilators to get myself my actual exam paper.

It was from my own mistake really, since I queued up kinda late to put my bag at the cloakroom and didn't check my papers thereafter when I've entered the exam hall.

Feeling kinda depressed about it though, just wanted to let it out and hopefully i could forget this silly day and pretend that nothing happened.

Where's that cadbury chocolate bar at times when you really need one?

And why at times like these i gotta fuck it all up?

Sigh. I''ll get over it soon enough. Pretty soon.

Snow

It's been a disappointing winter to be honest.

I was really anticipating snow in Sheffield..but it wasnt there. Well, there are a few times that snow "did" came but it was only for a brief moment, like an hour or so. (Snow tastes like ice!). Then they would be frost in the morning where you can see a bed of snow covering the grass.

I've always wanted to make a snowman and have a snowball fight..guess i've should wait till next winter to experience the fun. Sheffield did experience the worst winter on 2010 and i did ask a few people around Sheffield how was it and they were like-

"The worst one ever"

"Shit just gotten worse, mate"

"It's cold, wet, and damp. Nobody wants to go out"

And etc, etc.

2011's winter so far is warm and fuzzy and most people are really grateful that snow didn't fall that much compared to last term; in which in the case of me and my friends- left frowning and sad of no white sparkly ice crystal falling down from the sky.

Memes are getting ridiculously popular and to be honest, they're fun and cute, in their own way.

Just incase if i get bored of studying or in need of something to freshen up my day, sites like 9gag.com and memebase.com are the ones that never fails to cheer me up.

I prefer to read 9gag.com though, since their jokes and humours always make me grin and smile with awe. Down here is one of my favourite rage comics-

2011- The Year In Pictures And Words

It's been such a fantastic- and agonizing year 2011 has been and I can't believe that i've gone through all these shit in a year.

Err..literally.

Lets see..what actually happened in 2011?

January

Back to Micet, one of the Universities which are located in totally rural area of Malacca were such a pain in the ass for me. I didn't particularly liked Micet as much as I would, since you're totally isolated from the outside world- where without your own transport you're deemed to be brain dead (not to mention that slowwwwwww free wifi in the dorms) and stuck with the horrible cafe's. I still miss Pak Ya's cafe and Kedai Puaka-(Don't ask why we name it), they had the best meals and were good value for the buck. Me and my friends kicked start January with a dinner at Malacca's best seafood place, Umbai and went to Melaka Wonderland.

February

Still in Micet and staying strong. In the month of February Micet had a sports carnival and from all the games that we played, we won medals in Takraw, Ping Pong (a confirmed gold), Netball and a few which i couldnt remember. But the highlight of February was the sending of our roommate, Lee, which is due to study in Auckland, New Zealand at KLIA. There were a lot of families attending their childrens sending off and to tell you guys the truth, I was proud to see them flying off and was sad to see our roommate going to Auckland.

March

This was the saddest month that i've gone through. With assignments, tests and exams are due and during the night before my birthday, my beloved aunt passed away because of blood cancer. I can't fly back to Kuching the next day since I had a test on that particular date and there I lay down, crying by myself with disbelief. In short notice, Allah took her away from me and my family. Writing this still gives me chills and sadness and if only I've spent much time with her..

April

April was a slow and the most boring month i've ever had. Everyone was busy with their studies, as exams are just a month away and everyone wants to get their asses on the plane and fly to UK. It was also the month where me and my friends went to KL to take a look at the PC Fair and paid a visit to our good friends at iprom.

May

May 2011. This was one of the best month in the calendar where surprisingly I was nominated as one of the winners in an essay writing competition and met the ex-prime minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad. We also had our graduation dinner and it was a blast. Final exams were a breeze, but Engineering Design paper, made by Mr Law spoiled the mood where the questions were like- fucking hard. Finally I could go back to Kuching and relax myself after 5 months of studying.

June

June was the month where I had the chance to fully explore my hometown, Kuching. A few friends of mine from the peninsular came to visit Kuching where there was this cheap online flight tickets to Kuching from Airasia. The trip to Bako National Park was one of the best trips i've ever had. With tantalizing trails and hikes, we managed to travel half of the island but managed to see the wildlife in deep of the forest, natural waterfalls and rivers and few monkeys i've never seen before. In this month i've also managed to watch my local team, Sarawak, play against Kelantan at the Sarawak stadium but ended in bad blood; with firecrackers being thrown around in the stadium which were hugely entertaining than the match itself. Lol.

July

It is confirmed. It is confirmed that i've pass my exams in Micet and I was totally overjoyed. With the coming of the EPL giants- the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea to Malaysia, I thought this would be the most appropriate time to treat myself- with two match tickets (Liverpool and Arsenal), this is once in a lifetime experience. Booked myself a plane ticket and flew to KL on the day where there was this riot- BERSIH which intervened my journey to Hakim's house. Thanks to Muadz, i got a place to stay or it'd be damned to stuck in traffic in which major roads are closed. Liverpool won 6-3 and honestly, it was a very good game compared to Arsenal's, who won 4-0 simply because Safee and Safiq Rahim scored 3 beautiful goals for Malaysia.

August

Visa. Oh Visa. It's the holy month of Ramadhan in August and it was deemed to be the one to cherish as I would be leaving soon. But this month was pretty much fussy as I had to complete my visa application which I did twice. The first attempt was a disaster though, as the day before I wanted to send in my visa application, i've just realized that my passport will expire by 2012. And I was like.."Shit mangggggg..i've just wasted my money to buy plane tickets to KL and now I have to go here again next week!" On the day where I had to send my visa application, I had to take a taxi to Damansara and renew my passport on the spot. Took me like 5 hours to renew it since they were lots of people renewing and applying for a passport and oh, Eid was on 31st of August. Lovely date.

September

Celebrating Eid with friends and family, it was certainly the month to enjoy in September and saying goodbye to Malaysian food, lovely friends and caring family was really tough- with a new world and environment awaits, I am unsure about my capability to adapt to the english world- England, Sheffield. The first week itself has been hell, as I was caught with a flu and asthma and jetlag. The first week of lectures has been a breeze and had to do a little adjustment with my surroundings as I had to constantly remind myself that this is not Micet. In Micet we usually have class like in a group of 26 people and it was easy to ask questions with the lecturers. Now, its a different story.

October

As i'm trying to settle down in Sheffield, i've noticed that the shops here close very early, like at 5pm and they have this VAT tax- which is due 20% on stuffs, mainly on electronics which is a total rip off. In Malaysia they have 6% but its 20% here in UK! If any of you guys planning to buy laptops please buy at Malaysia, which is a hell lot cheaper. In October i've also went scurrying around in Sheffield and managed to experience a carboot sale which is pretty massive. A trip to Liverpool and Anfield gave October a month to remember; sad that we dont have tickets for the match, otherwise it would've been the perfect trip.

November

A lot of things happened in November and the main highlights was celebrating AidilAdha at Sheffield, my first time visiting Meadowhall (the biggest shopping mall in Sheffield) and ofcourse, the Malaysian Nottingham games and Malaysian food festival. The Malaysian Nottingham games were fun, and the organizers planned our trips perfectly and it was nice to see Sheffield grabbed the champions title in football. It was a pretty intense final though and i'm sure everyone who watched the final remembered what the Manchester university player did to the ref, right? Lol.

December

December is the final month of 2011 and to top things off me and my friends had a christmas dinner with my and other flatmates at Lawrencefield. I love the vegetable dish and gravy that my flatmate cooked. It was tha boombbbb. December was also the month where we had our final lectures and say goodbye to our flatmates as they were going back to their hometown. Me and my friends had a dinner ourselves where we tried to cook Nasi Lemak but failed miserably. But still the taste wasn't that bad though. Still eatable. Lol. And finally, December ended with style where I've had a chance to travel to Amsterdam, the city of Sins.

Well, that's pretty much what 2011 was about for me- a simple words and picture summed up in a blogpost. Probably this year (2012) resolution is where i'll finally try to exercise and get a six-pack and some good grades for my masters degree.

Happy 2012 everyone! And no, I don't believe that there'll be apocalypse on 12.12.12.

Dream

I've always dreamed off being an engineer and my love for chemistry had given me the edge towards chemical engineering. But, when I've started teaching and worked as a teacher and a personal tutor to students that was when I've thought-

"Hey, teaching seems kinda fun..why dont I try becoming a real teacher or a lecturer some day?"

So i thought, yeah, why not? Doesn't mean that im going to finish my studies, obtain a masters degree in chemical engineering- i'll end up to become an engineer for life. Maybe I could become an engineer for a few years, set up my own tuition centre and be my own boss, and teacher.

You don't have to be someones slave and do everything that someone told you so. One day if im fortunate enough, i'll build a tuition centre that every students will love- a tuition centre with its own cafe, its own place to chill, a library or an internet cafe. That'll would be the best tuition centre ever. I know some parents would think that it would be much of a distraction for students, but as long as the students get their education and are happy- then i'll die being a happy man.

Thats my dream.

Dreams are never too late to reach. Even when you're almost dying.

Boxing Day In Sheffield

They say that its the biggest event of the year.

Mark 26th of December on your calendar boys- because thats boxing day and that would be the only day where you could get a PS3 with a whopping 20-30% discount or a good ass bundle.

Apparently im dreaming.

That picture above were the only things that I've bought during boxing day- a Sherlock Holmes novel and the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (both for 11.99 pounds), a 100% cotton cardigan from primark (10 pounds) and a box of ferrero rochers (1 pounds; we ate all of them already).

I was left disappointed with the fact that I couldn't get a PS3..its been a while since i've been scouting for that console- heck, i'll just wait for next year's boxing day.

Woke up as early as 7am and walked through the treacherous winds and little bit of pouring rains were some challenge that me and my friends had to endure to go for boxing day and as we reached the tram station, I was left shocked to see that there were tons of people queuing to get a ride.

What's so special about getting early? Does that makes you an olympic gold medalist?

Well, from my humbled point of view, it does gets you to purchase dead cheap clothes, shoes and other apparels at shops and in Meadowhall, I was left awestruck with the swarm of human walking around and trying clothes on. Since there's limited amount of fitting rooms, some shoppers bravely put down their pants and tried their denims on. (And that damn long queue)

Cool. In paradise Malaysia you would get shot by a phone camera and got it posted at Oh! Media entitled

"Pembeli tidak beradab. Apa nak jadi dengan manusia sekarang"

Ahhh..whatever.

One thing I'm disappointed about this boxing day was the lack of discount given on electronics stuffs, like headphones, tvs, monitors, consoles, etc, etc- you get the drill. It's a shame really, since i'm not really a fashionista, but a technogeeko.

The clothes are really damn cheap I tell you, when I entered Primark at 10am something I saw this cool winter jacket which I thought was on a really good deal, like 10 pounds and thinking of buying it afterwards. But after a while, it's gone!!

To compensate my disappointment, that was the time when I thought-

"Dah lamak dah sik baca novel.."

And there comes those two new books in room. Reading internet posts saying people queueing up as early as 4am kinda put me on a perspective-

When it comes to shopping; especially discounts, "Get up early, grab that deal, be a happy man"

But today- I thought-

"Got up early, deal wasn't there, went home a sad man"

P:S// Why Cinema's in the UK doesn't have subtitles on their movies?! Sometimes its hard to understand complex storylines when you can't even understand what they're saying..warghhh. (And oh, sorry for the lack of pictures during boxing day, thought that it would be a good idea to enjoy myself and enjoice the shopping bonanza's. Heh)

This Is Winter. This Is Amsterdam.

Fuck this shit.

Seriously.

I've been such a couch potato this winter. There a lot of blog posts that i've wanted to write and share, but instead all i do is sleep, eat and surf the net. No productivity at all.

It's winter and i'm not going to brag telling you guys how cold it is. I'm sure you guys know how exactly COLD it is during winter, and how many layers of clothes are essential if you want to avoid getting frozen nipples on the street. (Or icicles)

Anyways, to fill up the "no productivity at all" slogan into the bin, my friends planned a trip to Amsterdam, by Ferry.

Ferry?! You fucking serious mate?

I tell you, the Ferry is freaking awesomeeeee!!! Top notch. Top Quality.

The price is not that expensive, where the tickets costs me 36 pounds and the experience it gave was overwhelming and worthwhile. But before the Ferry trip from Hull, we went to the Deep, a place which looks quite similar like Aquaria at KLCC and we were kinda disappointed with what the place had to offer. It's boring.

If i was a kid, most probably my face looks like this when I look at those fishes in the tank-

Lol.

Inside the Ferry, we had hotel-like facilities and they were a lot of entertainments such as live bands, cinemas, sundecks, live football matches on telly and casinos- where we saw lots of people lost hundreds on pounds in one night. One thing that I didn't really like are those random checks that they did on us when we want to board the ferry though, which is kinda odd.

Once we reached Amsterdam, first thing that i've noticed is that there are sooooo many bikes on the streets. Like, a gazillion of them on the roads of Amsterdam. Never in my life I see bicycles hogging the road that many and feel intimidated that I could get hit by a random bicycle and die. Ok, I think i exaggerated that part a bit. Heh.

As we walk through the streets, we could smell weed. Weed, magic mushrooms, cannabis, or any kind of soft drugs are legal in Amsterdam and so is prostitution- at the Red Light District, or codename RLD. Amsterdam, the city of Sins- drugs, alcohol, sex and freedom- their motto, I suppose.

Weeds in Amsterdam are sold in local coffee shops and you can directly smoke it inside the coffee shop which probably costs you 10-20 euros a packet. I'm not a weed smoker, or a cigarette smoker myself but my tiny little brain does says that its a waste of money. Well, kinda.

Strolling away in the streets of Amsterdam, we saw river pathways in which you could see lots of small boats travelling around with tourists inside- not to mention that they're tons of ducks swimming around and swans too. It's my first time looking at a swan and it's a beautiful, elegant and enormous little creature.

The foods in Amsterdam are like..so fucking expensive. (Especially the Halal ones- cut throat prices; kebab with a few pieces of fries costs you 9.50 euros and a can of pepsi would do a damage of +2.50 euro to your wallet. Once we've found where's McD located in Amsterdam, its fillet o fish all the way baby. And oh, wanna use the toilet? That'll costs you 50 cents at Amsterdam's Mcdonald.

In Malaysia its free. Malaysia BOLEHHH!!!

Our Hotel in Amsterdam were a bit crappy and we had to share the toilet and bathroom with other guests, so its kinda inconvenient for us to have our sweet time in the toilet. Forgotten to take pictures of the hotel since we were busy taking pictures of Amsterdam but incase you're wondering, we stayed at Mevlana Hotel and costs us 72 euros a night. Quite cosy. But inconvenient because of the shared toilet and bathroom.

As the night blooms in Amsterdam, me and my friends thought of going to the Red Light District- a place where you can "hire" women for some services and based on my experience, errr...well, I can't really describe it though- all I can say that its full of women that you can "hire" and would costs you 70 dollars for 20min, so do the math. If Malaysia has a RLD of its own, i'm sure its the end of the world. Apocalypse.

At RLD, there's a museum, called Erotic Museum which costs you 7 euros to enter (nothing much inside- view youtube to check whats inside) and talking about museums, we entered one of the famous museums in Amsterdam, called The Torture Museum, which was kinda thrilling. A lot of weapons and unimaginable stuffs were displayed to torture humans and looks disturbing as hell.

Aside of all those nonsense, one of the highlights of my Amsterdam trips with my friends were the mosque in Amsterdam. From outside, you'll never thought that there's a big mosque inside the building, which looks like just a normal shopping lot. But when you come inside, its big, majestic, and so...mesmerizingly beautiful.

Before the prayers, there were Quran verses being read by the imams and the lights were all shut off except at the front of the mosque. Somehow it brought warmth and ease listening to Quran verses on such conditions and gave me chills at the back of my neck.

All good things come to an end and despite only a few days in Amsterdam and running short of budget, I can say that my trip was well worth the time, money and experience. If only we stayed a bit longer, which costs you a bit more money, it would've been the perfect holiday. Probably if there's another chance to go to Amsterdam again, i'm gonna ride that cruise and probably smoke myself some weed.

Bicycle

Hi.

I'm a bicycle, and I have a name. You can call me Dunlop. My full name is Dunlop Signature Series Realm and i have a skin color of blue, and black and I would like to share you my story.

2 weeks ago, there was two people, from Sheffield, who wanted to buy a bike from my home, Sports Direct. Two of my friends were picked up from home and sent to Sheffield to their rightful owners, named Buzz, and Saiklop.

There were very happy to get their bikes and i'm happy for my friends too. I wished them well. Hopefully that their owners will treat them with love, care and lust.

Unfortunately though, one of my friends had a problem with his front gear, so he had to be exchanged. He came back to Sports Direct and Sports Direct sent a new bicycle, another friend of mine to his house and Saiklop, the owner who received the new bike, was very happy with it.

Then, a week after that, disaster came, my friend, who's owner is Buzz, had a problem with his gear and Buzz and his friends tried to fix it, but it was to no avail. So he called Sports Direct and asked wether he can get a new one, and Sports Direct said yes.

This time, it was my turn, to adventure to a new world, outside from this big building and experience the wonders of nature, city and urbanization.

Sports Direct sent a courier service from Yodel to pick my friend up from Saiklop's house, but couldn't pick him up since nobody was at Saiklop's apartment. So Buzz took the alternative, by carrying the bike from Saiklop's place with Kuna, a friend of Buzz, up the hill to his apartment at Lawrencefield. It was tough. Very-very tough indeed.

Buzz called Sports Direct and asked them to arrange for a new collection time and it was Tuesday last week. Buzz had to sent his lab report late, just because he wanted to make sure that Yodel picked the bicycle up. After my friend was collected from Yodel, Buzz ranged Sports Direct again to inform that the bicycle was picked up.

So, Sports Direct sent me to Saiklop's house last Wednesday, 30th of November since the order reference regarding the purchase was made at Saiklop's house. I was sealed in a box and it was so dark and gloomy, and I can't wait to look at the sunshine outside.

When Buzz came, I can see the look from his eyes- he was so happy. Him and Saiklop put me up and assembled me quickly, but Saiklop forgotten that the pump's tyre was at Ecah's house; so Buzz had to walk me from Saiklop's home to my new home, Lawrencefield. On my way to Lawrencefield, I saw my friend and he said "Hi" and said that he was cold. It was Winter, said Buzz, so the temperature is very, very cold indeed.

Once I've reached Lawrencefield, I've been chained next to a staircase and on that night, Saiklop came up with the tyre's pump. Buzz pumped my tyre up and said that he will ride me up this weekend, probably this Sunday morning to the Botanical Gardens and on Saturday night, something happened.

There was a loud noise that night and someone kicked on my rims, twisted 720 degree's on my handle and my handle bars were pulled off. I was pushed from the staircase and fell down to the earth. I cried in despair. I was going to die.

I AM GOING TO DIE.

So I closed my eyes..and hope, that heaven would take me far away from this place..I was searching for Buzz, but he wasn't there..he was still asleep. He havent rode me up yet and promised to bring me to the Botanical Gardens but with this condition, I dont think I could make it..I'm sorry Buzz..I'm truly sorry..

I've promised my readers that I would show you guys my room and around my flat here in Sheffield and today I cleaned everything- cupboards, trash cans, bed and toilet. Since it's clean, here's a few pictures of my room. Not really that tidy though, but really comfy.

Im not going to show you my toilet since i've just finished washing up a few of my clothes..so apparently my boxers are still hanging around in there. Lol.

Here's some few pictures of the kitchen and lounge during my early months in Sheffield.

So anyways, it's almost 2 months now staying in Sheffield and to be honest, I really do miss Malaysia a lot. Well i'm pretty sure a lot of other Malaysian students who's studying abroad are missing Malaysia as well, right?

Nothing feels like home, really.

The weather here is getting colder and colder each day. I've never experience such cold weather before and yeah, winter kinda sucks though..ITS TOO COLD!! Probably the best part of winter is snow..but it's not snowing yet in Sheffield and i'm hoping to make myself a snowman ~~with a penis~~ once snow starts pouring down in Sheffield.

I mean, you go to class in the morning at 9am, and at 4pm, it's total darkness. I wonder how's Summer though. Probably during Summer i'll write another post saying Summer sucks. Hahah.

Im just kidding.

So, everyweek in Sheffield, I do the same stuffs almost everyday. Going to class, lectures, tutorials, study, cook, eat at popeyes and crowns pizza and that occasional football 5 or 7 a side at All Saints. I wanted to travel around but at this moment money is really an obstacle since the rent for staying in halls is bloody expensive. Maybe i'm only going to London this winter break.

Somehow I do still think that I should hang around more with my flatmates and have fun with them. But sometimes i'm not really sure myself what to do, talk and say with/to them. It takes time to settle down here though. Not sure if im settled down yet. Probably yes, probably not.

Neverthless, I love them. =P (They've decorated the kitchen with a Christmas tree and pardon about the mess)

One thing I found outstanding here in UK is their online shopping experience. It's really damn good. Lots of choices, lots of discounts and no hassle or whatsoever. Me and my friends bought two bicycles recently and both of them were kinda faulty so we called them to get an exchange and they sent a courier for us to pick the bicycle up. Luck was not really on our side regarding about the bike but if you're in Malaysia, hell's break loose if you get a faulty bicycle. I doubt they'll send a courier over to get the bicycle fixed or an exchange.

"Basikal rosak? Ahhh..sorry. There's nothing we can do about it though,"

There was once, when I bought a guitar hero bundle and got the receiver missing, and they gave me a partial refund (10 pounds), so that I could buy the receiver myself, but instead I got it free from Activision! How cool is that?

They really care about their customers. That bit, Malaysia has to really improve on.

Still, I miss Malaysia.

The Nottingham Malaysian Games 2011

They say that it was the biggest Malaysian sports event in the UK.

I say..

Meh.

The Nottingham games has a lot to offer for us, students, such as futsal, netball, basketball, volleyball, ping pong, badminton, lightning chess, scrabble and surprisingly, congkak and batu seremban. There was no tennis and football though, which I was a bit disappointed since tennis is a very popular sport. (I could've participated!)

Oh well, beggars can't be choosers, no? Our bus trip was only one hour from Sheffield and I was quite surprised to see a few from Dublin who came to join the games. 100++ pounds for a return flight yaww.

Majulah Sukan Untuk Negara.

I didn't watch all the games offered though but futsal, basketball and badminton games were really knee jerkers- with high intense action, especially in the futsal final match, in which Sheffield thumped Manchester 2-0. During the match, one Manchester player got red carded and slapped the referee where I thought it was really unnecessary and poor sportsmanship.

"You did two bad tackles and complain about your red card? Ni nak tampar referee plak. Chill la bro"

I met a lot of friends at Nottingham but sadly couldn't grab a picture or two with them since the moment when I meet them were kinda....awkward, like:

1. Im going inside the bus, a friend going outside the bus.
2. Im going inside a toilet, a friend going outside the toilet.
3. Im going outside for lunch, a friend going inside for his game.

And etc, etc..but still it was nice to meet all my friends although it was only for a brief period. The highlights for the Nottingham games were ofcourse the Malaysian food festival, where authentic dishes from Malaysia were served to satisfy our craving for Malaysian foods!

FYI, apam balik costs 2.50 pounds here..hahah. Anyways, here are some pics from the food festival, the games and the trip. :p

Malaysian Cars In Sheffield! (And some other places too)

I still find it ridiculous regarding 300% tax on imported cars by our government. A BMW which costs RM100k here in the UK would cost you RM400k in Malaysia. As stupid as the sound of it, Malaysian still insists on buying these cars and don't mind paying 300% tax.

~~Malaysians are rich.~~

I'm a cheapskate, so i'd rather take a hybrid car which has less tax and is more fuel economic. I'm not giving a stick at the way our government tax our cars (bless the subsidized oils- or else it would be havoc in Malaysia now) but rather, as cheap as german made BMW, home fresh Mini or the Italian Ferrari, you could still see a few "Malaysian" cars here in the UK.

Talk about pride. Lol.

(Malaysian cars here are much more expensive than a Mini..serious!!)

Liverpool!

I know i've should done this post a week ago, but yeah, i'm lazy and I always procrastinate, so what the heck.

Last week, I went to Liverpool with my friends, in occasion to "enjoy" the atmosphere of the stadium when Manchester United came to Anfield for a BPL match.

Our trip started very early, as we walked from Sheffield to the bust station as early as 8a.m. The bus would be leaving at 9a.m and the estimated time of arrival at Liverpool was 11.40a.m.

During the bus trip I saw a lot of hills, water flowing from the rivers and some sheep, cows and goats munching on some grass. It was quite an unbelievable sight though, since it was the scene was so beautiful and mesmerizing.

Once we arrived at Liverpool, we took the taxi from the coach station to Anfield and it costs around 6 pounds. At Anfield, the atmosphere was really sick! I see everyone walking, with their Liverpool jerseys everywhere and I was like-

"Whoa..I'm at Anfield, I am really at Anfield!"

Everyone was singing, shouting and sadly enough, I can't enter into Anfield to watch the match since I don't have any tickets. Speaking of tickets, there were some people offering us some tickets but the price was sooo fucking expensive- 200 pounds!!

The normal ticket price was 48 pounds and there were a few people asking us too, wether if we have any tickets but we told them there were some "people" who were selling at 200 pounds and they tell us-

"I dont give a damn. As long as I can enter the stadium, then it's 200 pounds money well spent"

Oh well.

Me and my friends decided to watch the game inside the bar, just opposite of the stadium. The bar was fully packed of people and there's this bodyguard infront of the bar keeps on reminding us-

"Don't just stand there and watch the game; BUY SOME DRINKS!"

Feeling kinda scared that they would throw us out, we bought some cola's and for every miss, there's a loud sigh and when Gerrard scored the goal from the free kick, everyone was jumping around and screaming. After the goal, a few Liverpool songs and chants were heard but when Hernandez scored that fucking goal close range at the dying minutes, everyone went silent and in all of a sudden-

"FUCK THIS SHIT. FUCK THIS SHIT. FUCK THIS MAN UNITED SCUM"

And everyone continues to swear, curse and yell every nasty word they could think off.

After the game, me and my friends went to the scarfs shop to buy some Liverpool scarfs. It was 5 pounds each and we bought a lot of them. The shop owner was nice enough to give us some free gifts too.

That was when, disaster came. Me and my friends wanted to go to the city of Liverpool to tour a bit and visit the Legendary Beatles Museum but little do we know that there were no taxi's and buses near Anfield after the match. We tried to call the taxi but they told us that the taxis were sold out?! WTF? SOld out?! We had to wait for the bus nearly for two hours and we arrived at the city at 4.30p.m, in which our bus back to Sheffield was due at 6p.m. Shit.

The only place we managed to visit was the Liverpool city centre and visited the Liverpool's Sport Direct shop where I bought a pair of gloves. During the trip back to Sheffield we transited at Leeds for an hour and managed to grab a few pictures.

I asked a friend of mine, "Hey, what do you think of this trip overall?"

"Disaster. A fucking disaster. It wouldn't be a fucking disaster if Liverpool won."

Yeah, I thought, if only there was a taxi after the match, we could've visited the museum, waterfront and even ride Liverpool's eye.

I wouldn't mind at all, if the score was 1-0 or 3-0 instead of 1-1 the other day.

Will visit Liverpool again next time.

Life Challenges

Pardon for my ignorance on my blog, but I've been busy for quite a while since the start of my university life.

It's been challenging. Fucking challenging.

You know, ever since I've step foot on this country and university, I've been thinking and worried about the fact that i'll be short of money.

I think, from every international students point of view, they can't deny the fact that money, is always an issue- and you can't fuck with it or else, you're dead.

I'm one of the few students who are currently staying at the university halls and it's 40 minutes away from my department. Walking never felt this damning before and ofcourse, there's a few of us staying at private accommodation, which is a hell lot cheaper.

Imagine, the difference in staying halls and private accommodation is 200 pounds a month. That's a lot you know. 200 pounds a month can buy you a lot of stuffs and thinking about this has really starting to make me crazy. The most I could save is like 100 pounds and so, there goes my eurotrip plan. Down and dusted.

But yeah, halls are good if you wanna meet new people, friends and gain a valuable experience with the local lads here in the UK which you can't get it elsewhere. I mean, since you're here in the UK, go get some experience and tell your story at your hometown, eh?

I do find it hard sometimes to get along with my flatmates since their lifestyles are totally different from mine. (Some of them). They drink, party and club. But that doesn't mean that I can't approach them as a normal human would do. Sure, I may not have that perfect english speaking tone and that european face look; but once you get the hang of it, you'll find them fun, nice and funny at times.

Sometimes I think, did I make the right choice on staying at the university halls? I could go find myself a private accommodation and a replacement for my room (which is very hard at the current moment) but I'll just let time decides, wether the choice was totally worth it-

Or not.

Engineering Sexes

I can draw a conclusion that men-

Enrolls in engineering far more than many compared to women.

Tch, tch, tch....BUTTT!!

The trend has steadily changed in which I observed that women are studying engineering more than any course and reality bites;

They tend to be far better than men.

So, I don't think that my conclusion is valid. It's arguable and honestly, more and more women are trying to indulge into engineering which people always describe engineering, "ONLY FOR GUYS".

What gives?

I don't really see a change in enrollment in "ONLY FOR WOMENS" courses and one prime example, nursing- still "men" thinks;

"Naaaa..it's for girls mate, I don't think nursing is the course for me, "

This has to change though, as thinking certain courses for only "Men" or "Women"is stupid.

Don't let that mindset kills your interest in a subject or course where sex, doesn't play any part of it.

It's all what you want to be and the interest that you have in it, and I've totally changed my mind thinking that women can't do better than men in engineering.

Again, reality bites. Women kicks men's ass most of the time.

Sheffield 1.49

I love Sheffield.

I really love the feel of it, i mean the environment here..it's so..pleasant, and heartwarming.

Somehow.

As always, I've been busy with classes and lectures, it's totally different from what i've experienced in Malaysia, the lecturers, students ~~and ofcourse girls.~~ (Kidding)

Monday is my busiest day though, with classes and lectures from 11a.m till late 6p.m..which is totally crazy and tiring. Super duper tiring I'd say, in which when it comes to the last lecture on Mondays, I tend to defocus and wander off somewhere.

The lecturers are good, but how'd you feel if you have to sit down and hear lectures 4 hours straight? Totally crazy.

I've done my first lab session a few moments ago and usually supervisors expect you to know how to use all the apparatus given to you during the lab session.

The agonizing lab report awaits. Damn I totally hate lab reports.

Mak suruh ambik business takmaw..ni gatal2 blaja engineering. Kan kene buat lab report??

Here in Sheffield, fish is very expensive while meat; especially chicken or beef is quite cheap. I thought I wanted to eat tuna for dinner but I was god-smacked when I saw the price for a can of tuna was 1.69 pounds each and oh, forgot to mention that rice was 1.20 pounds for 1 kg which is very expensive!

Apa nak buat, nasik punya pasal..beli sajalah.

One thing that I like about my place here is that you can see squirrels everywhere. I mean, literally merata-rata tempat! And they're not shy too. Here's one pic of a squirrel that i took using my cam at the botanical garden. (I just love the parks here..it's soo green and leafy..but all white during winter).

Cute, kan?

Chocolates here are very very very cheap..i mean dead cheap!! 5 bars of snickers (full size ones) costs only 1 pound! (That's 20p each..roughly RM0.95 cents..haha). In Malaysia snickers bar are usually RM3-RM3.50 something..(roughly 58-62p). There's loads of chocolates in my room, you can actually see snickers bar at every corner.

Me and my friends did tried to cook a few Malaysian dishes but yeah we failed miserably, even Nasi Goreng. If only I learnt how to cook earlier..my hungriness wouldn't be as miserable as it is right now.

It would be nice to eat a bowl of Mee Kolok with a glass of Teh Tarik.

Ahhh..bliss.

Sheffield 1.0

Sheffield is a nice city.

It's clean, vibrant and peaceful. (And quite cold too)

My first week has been pleasant though and if only I wasn't sick, it would've been much more nicer. There's a lot of things i wanted to do this weekend, but I couldn't since asthma came knocking.

It's been a while now since I've been asthma attacked. Oh well. It's the time of the year again I suppose.

The first thing that i've noticed here in the UK is that when you enter a building, a car, or a bus, they wont open the aircond but instead just close it down and open the heater.

It's different there in Malaysia..like when you enter the shopping mall-

"Ahhh..finally. Aircond!!"

But, here in the UK-

"Ahhh..finally. Heatt!!"

It's damn cold here at the UK, and it's autumn. It's not even winter yet. Autumn is like 15-17 degree's celcius and try to imagine your aircond is open 24 hours at the lowest temperature setting (usually 16 degrees)- that is how cold it is like outside.

You're crazy if you wear shorts and slippers.

Another thing that i've noticed is that, the cost of living here in the UK is low compared to Malaysia. Let me give you guys an example,

A bar of snickers is like only 50p here in the UK and RM3 in Malaysia.

If a family earns 1000 pounds at the UK and RM1000 at Malaysia, you can easily guess that in the UK, you can buy more snickers bar.

Just a rough example though. I know that if you earn like RM10000 at KL it is still insufficient.

Clothes are really cheap here. You can get t-shirts at 2-3 pounds each and if you ride a taxi, you could bring atleast 6 people in- where you could usually bring 4 people inside a taxi at Malaysia.

Oh ya, i'm staying at the university hall at Endcliffe, which is a lil bit expensive and i've met my flatmates, 4 from the UK, 1 from Canada, and 3 Malaysians (including me). Everyone seems to be very friendly and easy going, though I really need some time to adjust myself with the british accent.

I'll post up some pictures of my room and flat soon! ;) (Room is a bit messy, so yeah..)

And it's been more than a week now since i've eaten rice..

I really miss rice..T.T

It's tomorrow.

As much as I anticipate my flight to London, there's no denying that butterflies are constantly up there in my stomach everytime I think about leaving.

This week was an adventure itself, started with some pre-departure briefings where I received lots of money- and it's not even mine. It's the taxpayers money that's been "invested" in the hope that I could bring some new knowledge in terms of experience, ideas and skills.

Exaggerating brat much.

I resisted on buying new gadgets, as I have all the gadgets that I need with me that I deem essential at the UK- but something went wrong yesterday, as I was pick pocketed and there goes my beloved sony walkman phone.

Fuck you pickpocket. Seriously. Die.

Andddddd so, there goes my budget plan. Have to buy a new phone by today!

Btw, Johnny English Reborn was fun, there's nothing like watching good ol' Mr. Bean at it's best-

Ok. WTF am I talking about- Oh yeah, I'm gonna leave Malaysia tomorrow! I never knew that this day could come; or could happen but it did. I remembered very well that I saw a lot of my friends and people cried at the airport when me and my friends sent Lee to the airport for his flight.

I've packed my stuffs and my bags are full with clothes, some gadgets, laptop, books and ofcourse;

A few Malaysian flavor.

I hope that I don't get homesick.

Sad.

Nervous.

And scared.

These 3 emotions are currently in my mind these few days and headaches are occasionally apparent signaling high level of stress and thinking.

Saying goodbye, to your hometown, friends and families are never easy.

And add to the fact of those challenges in studying, sleeping and eating abroad- obviously it's fucked up.

As I try to smile and embracing a new chapter in my life, it feels..so.....messed up.

My mind is not particularly ready for such crazy thoughts and I'm having mixed feelings of waving goodbye. ~~(To Laksa, Mee Kolok and ABC)~~

When I was studying in school, I never thought of studying abroad..like..I knew it's nearly impossible for me to achieve that.

Ok, bullshit. I made that up. In school, studying abroad has always been in my mind and there's no lying to the fact that back then, it feels so.. intriguing, fun and is full of excitement.

But now..

Seriously I don't know how to express this kind of feeling. The feeling of saying goodbye to my beloved hometown- friends, and families.

Here, I would like to thank everybody who always gave me their support towards me- no matter big or small, whom stayed there for me in time of despair, and joy.

I never felt that saying goodbye could end up in tears.

Now I do.

Uh-oh..headache again---

Damn!! Never felt this sad before in my whole life!

Raya 2011

Sorry for the late raya post- been busy within these few weeks..haha.

It's almost 15 days of raya and i'll be honest with you guys-

I've gained 3kgs one the first week of raya alone!!

It took me like a month to shed 5kgs of bodymass during Ramadhan and yes, I do think that gaining weight is a hell lot easier than losing.

Masa puasa makan sikit..time raya makan banyak!! Hehe

So. How was my Raya?

Duit raya. Well..I can say it was a pretty decent amount..thanks to my families who's given it! For the past few year I always spent my duit raya recklessly. This year, i'm just going to bank in all those money and save.

Pretty frugal, no?

Since this would be my last raya as a "teenager" (next year i'm 21..so..ADULT)- I spent most of the day visiting my friends; and my families. Ate rendang, ayam masak kurma, kari kambing, satay, laksa, biscuits and layer cakes non stop! Not forgetting those carbonated drinks too.

Heh, no wonder I've gained 3kg's in a week! I drove all the way to Samarahan, BDC, Depo and Semariang to visit a few of my friends here in Kuching and if I miss any, sorry! There's a lot of houses for me to come by and visit..>.<

It's been a pleasure spending time with you guys..i'll surely miss those memories..

Anyways, my raya clothes were all very shabby as I bought some pants and shorts..and only two shirts. Well, I've bought a new pair of sneakers though, since my almost 3 year old puma sneakers are getting tighter on my feet.

Adidas originals brown sneakers. Pretty cool eh?

Bought them at Parkson at Spring rather than Lea Centre since I could get a free RM10 voucher for every purchase of RM150 and above.

I'll definitely miss my village here in Kuching..it's the place that I grew up..get to know a lot of good friends and did a hell lot of crazy stuffs.

There's no place like home..

As much as I love raya, I think, when it comes to football, it's a love-hate relationship.

Love- when your team wins.

Hate- when your team loses.

But, hate is a strong word..so I guess, "disappointed" would be more ideal.

So.

It was Sarawak, runners up of the 2nd premier league division against the champions of the Malaysian super league, Kelantan.

Sarawak vs Kelantan.

Fiesty match.

I expected the stadium to be not that full..maybe around 10k people..but, a whopping 30k came to watch the crocs live at Stadium Negeri Sarawak (kudo's for the support!!)- there was quite a jam as there were lots of cars coming from all directions to the stadium.

Everyone was anticipating the match with anxious and glee.

Polis pun banyak untung hari tok..byk saman kenak berik..haha.

Anyways, the game was a total sell-out and the stadium is very very lively. During the 1st half, Sarawak played very well..but, Sarawak's rhythm was a bit disoriented when Kelantan scored the 1st goal from Shahrul Talaha.

Some of the Sarawakian supporters were very funny.. especially those crazy ones (who yells funny quotes)..just love the home crowds.

Everytime when the Kelantan players touched the Sarawakian players..

"TUMBOK..TUMBOK...TUMBOK.."

The supporters chanted. And..when there's a corner..

"WE WANT GOAL..WE WANT GOAL..WE WANT GOAL.."

As a football fan though, ofcourse you can cheer and jeer any teams that you want..and, there's limits. Somehow there's this Kelantan supporter, who sat among the Sarawakian fans and acted kinda "stupidly" during the 2nd half with his constant babbling and ragging of the Sarawakian team.

Seriously man, you're killing yourself. You're like a single deer with a gazillions of tigers in a zoo. Kalau lu nak support Kelantan pun, bagi la respect skit kat home fans, okay?

Ni tak,

1st goal kelantan, menjerit macam babi tercekik pisang.

"WOOOOOOOOO....WEEEEEEEEEEEE...WOOOOO..WEEEE..."

and come the 2nd goal-

"HOI..BALIK LA..BALIK...JUM LA BALIKKKK!!!" (and other mockings towards the Sarawakian team)

The home crowd are getting pissed off and you're trying to make us more pissed? You're so gonna get it dude.

I mean, if you're a football fan and supporting the away team, it's okay to cheer for your team but not over exaggerate it, especially when you see there's a ton of home supporters by your side. (That's suicide, man)

The night went more spicier when fans got angry by throwing explosives (such as airbom) into the field (and towards the police, rela)..and it is, VERY, VERY DANGEROUS.

It was a night to remember, especially when that disrespectful supporter got beaten up (for a short while) and honestly, although i'm against bullying other people-

I guess he kinda deserved it.

P:S// Hopefully that no such things occur in the near future and it was great to see a lot of people came to support the local team! :). Again, kudos! (Good play by Kelantan btw..they were very composed under pressure and played some neat touches and football).

I've been a really big fan of blogger and i've been using blogger's service for almost 2 years now. The old interface is user-friendly and easy to use.

But now, blogger has introduced their new interface which looks seriously cool and modern. Posting new blog posts seems more intuitive and manageable. (Detailed stats on every posts are very much welcomed).

Thumbs up for blogger for the change- hopefully blogging could be much more fun! =) (Those white backgrounds really makes my eyes tired for a while)

It's that time of the year again!!

Selamat Hari Raya to all my friends, families and my beloved blog readers. I hope that this year's Raya could bring back all those joyous laughters and smile..lovely childhood memories and fun time together with friends and families.

This would be my 1st time celebrating raya without my aunt, whom passed away a few months ago because of blood cancer. The house surely feels a bit quiet without her usual chattering in the kitchen.

Petaling Street

Or KL's Chinatown- is one of the best place to shop for bargains.

It's the only place where you could buy Louis Vuitton's handbag for RM50.

Fake ones, ofcourse.

I went to Petaling Street last Monday and stayed at LeHotel (booked using agoda.com) which was at the heart of Petaling Street. The Hotel was pretty decent. For a price of RM70 for a standard room, you get one cozy bed, air cond, tv with astro and a very clean bathroom with a water heater.

Long story short, my KL trip last week was a disaster because I've just realized that my passport expires next year, on the 31st of December 2013, so my visa application would be automatically rejected if I didn't renew it. My visa application is done so i'll be enjoying the rest of my holidays, for now.

(During my visa application, I came as early as 6.45a.m and people have already started queueing at the front registration desk! A friend of mine who came at 8a.m had to suffer a long wait until 2p.m just to get his visa application done)

Ok, back to Petaling Street.

Interestingly, there a lot of tourists who come over Petaling Street to buy these fake products. (Well..not that many, but most of them). There's this cute Korean tourist that I saw the other day..damn, if only I had her number..lol. Anyways, I have nothing against fake products, (since they're cheap while the original ones are sooo fucking expensive) but, a few of my friends have told me to be very careful while shopping at Chinatown.

"Jangan tanya harga kalau ko taknak beli..kalau ko tanya harga pastu ko tak beli..ada kemungkinan yang tauke kedai tu akan tahan ko sampai ko beli barang tu.."

An Awkward Moment At Bukit Bintang

In one of my recent trips in KL, I went to Bukit Bintang to get myself a foot massage. It feels good and I was quite reluctant to pay RM25 for half hour but for the sake of trying, why not?

There were these two Iranian guys inside the massage boutique, one who had a massage and another one who filmed the guy who was massaged by some woman. It was weird though, filming while you're getting a massage. I was like...(=.=")

But, that was nothing, compared to when I went out snapping some pictures at Bukit Bintang, suddenly, there was this guy..in his middle 20's..short, bald and big, approached me and I had the most awkward conversation ever.

Bald Guy: Yo bro..nice camera.

Wei..wei..sape kaw? Ape bro-bro? I'm not your bro la botak.

Me: Yeah..its a Nikon.

Bald Guy: By the way..bro..you mau lancap-lancap?

I was like, WTF? Lancap-lancap?! I went silent.

Bald Guy: Bro..we ada chinese..korean..thailand..lu mau japanese? Kita ada japanese.

You think my face shows me that i wanna lancap-lancap??!

Me: Berapa ringgit satu jam? (trollface)

I went to KL last week..and just came back. I had to make my visa on that particular week, but failed since a catastrophe came beckoning. What a stressful week at KL it was. And I have to go again in these few days to finally hand in my visa application.

Lucid Dreaming

I'm sure most of you guys watched the movie, Inception.

For those who haven't, its a story where one could possibly control his/her dreams. (Or if you guys want more details of the movie, you guys can check it on imdb.com for more info's)

One sentence that i'd like to quote from that movie-

"In a dream, you never know where's the beginning nor the ending. The dream always starts from the middle,"

Frankly true.

It's not entirely impossible that you could control your own dreams. Well, I did though. I could control my own dream but it's not always successful. Sounds bullshit doesn't it?

That is what scientists call- "Lucid Dreaming". The ability of which you could control your own dream.

To be able to control your dream, it requires a lot of exercise such as being able to recognize that you're in a dream.

Like, for example, you're dreaming and ofcourse to tell your mind that you are aware that you're dreaming is almost next to impossible. If you could control your own dream, you could venture with it and no, I couldn't do all that inception thingy's yet- that require's total awareness that you're in a dream.

I've only gone through partial awareness though and through it, I could explore my dreams but couldn't really influence anything about the dream. (Like changing the course of the dream and do whatever I want)

It's pretty amazing though, what dreams could bring you in.

Difficult to master, but once successful, it's fun and totally intriguing.

Nothing Much

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. There's nothing going on' around much and most of my days are filled with sleeping, internet hogging and playing a few games.

I'm back working as an addmaths tutor to gain a bit of side income during this holiday and it's way better than working at ipohtown a year back. Working as low as 3hours a day could earn you as much as RM50. I could only get RM7.50 if i'm working at ipohtown. (Education is a ~~fucking~~ good business, i'd say)

This month i'm surely going to cut some of my futsal games and tennis (racquet broken) and it would sorely be miss. Life's ain't complete with a good round of sports.

Then there goes the visa thingy. I find it quite stressful though, why Sheffield University doesn't want to hire agents to help their students in obtaining a visa to study in the UK. I mean, they told us that hiring a visa could adhere us from being independent and restricting us from improving our soft skills.

The UK's visa application center is at KL goddamnit and to go back and forth to KL ain't cheap in this fasting Ramadhan month.

Sigh, there goes my temper.

Foods galore! Foods, they're everywhere!

I went to a lot of Ramadhan bazaars lately in Kuching. There's a lot of them such as the one in Satok (worse jam), at Jalan Tabuan, Taman Sukma, Matang Jaya, Kampung Boyan..etc..etc..i could list them all here, but the one and only Ramadhan bazaar that never fails my appetite is the one at Jalan Semarak, Gita.

Clean environment, and a hell lot of good foods. (Plus, its easy to find a parking and not heavily congested).

Food picsss!!!

N..for the best kebab i've ever tasted in my whole life-

RM3 a piece..it was heaven made on earth!

Safee Sali- The Malaysian Tevez

Little do we know that we have such a gem in our football squad.

Though with the size of an average asian joe, Safee Sali has the skills, aggressiveness, power and determination with the likes of the current EPL's venomous striker, ~~Luis Suarez.~~

I knew Safee back when he was playing for Sarawak. He was one of my favourite local strikers and to be honest, I thought that he was a Sarawakian at first.

But now, Safee is recognized by the whole Malaysian people as the one who could replace SuperMokh, or Mokhtar Dahari and Safee himself proved, that he could shine in the big stages with recent goals at the finals of the Suzuki cup, against Liverpool and both of home and away matches against country rivals Singapore.

I first saw him play against Liverpool and once he went into the field as a sub, he made an impact by scoring two goals and the way he plays does remind me of Tevez.

Hey, EPL clubs, why don't you guys give our "Tevez" a shot at the epl? I'm sure he could score a bag of goals!

Wouldn't cost a lot I'd say, is 1 million pounds for a transfer fee enough?

My Fascination With The North

One thing that I know is that most Malaysians are obsessed with South Korean singers, popstars, actors, drama, songs or whatever.

I don't give a shit really and no,

I do not watch Boy's Over Flowers.

(Except for a few episodes and that's the Japanese version)

Well, my point is-

Those actors, singers and popstars- I can say that 99.9999999999999% of them are South Koreans and not many people know about these North Koreans.

I don't have anything against them really (heck, I wish that I have a Korean girl as my wife..haha)..it's just that, I pity the North Korean citizens..a lot.

While the south side of Korea enjoys a wealthy dose of economy, social and entertainment; the north side in the meantime, suffers under the communism-led government.

I've written a few blogposts regarding North Korea and read a lot of other people's post too. I love the picture collection sets from boston.com regarding life in North Korea..really sums it up for me.

North Korea is such a mystery..it fascinates me a lot..i hope these photo essays could show a few glimpses of what would be the life of communism really is.

Fast Food Cautious

I think most fast food are highly contaminated with saturated fat, yellow sticky oils and generally offer a cup of carbonated drinks which contains a lot of sugars.

Not healthy.

Not healthy at all.

The thing is, whenever I buy something from a fast food chain restaurant, be it McDonalds, KFC or even Pizza Hut, I always felt very cautious on eating them and today was no exception.

I bought myself a KFC snack plate (I thought of eating fast foods to treat myself before this coming Ramadhan) and no, I didn't take the pepsi drink but Cheesy Wedges-

Yep.

I wanted to eat it without hesistation, I mean.."Makan jakla..peduli apa aku dengan minyak, saturated fat and all those crap".

But it didn't work.

As soon as I pinch those crispy fried chicken skin, I panicked and get myself a tissue and wiped some oil from the chicken using the tissues.

Most of you guys might think..WTF?

I have this habit..like, everytime when I eat deep fried or oily stuffs, I tend to wipe it with tissues..so that I could avoid myself from eating those excess oils from it.

Sounds weird?

Ok.

So, in the end, I only ate one chicken (but ate all the side dishes including the wedges) but I had to give away the other piece of the chicken to some stray cats outside searching for food.

Better stay healthy I say. Should've eaten that bar of chocolate instead of KFC!

During my KL trip a few weeks ago I've bought myself a present- a new lens!!

This was my 3rd biggest purchase after my Rayban sunnies and Klipsch headphones and most probably i'll be saving my money now, or else i'll end up broke!

Here's a pictar of the lens that I've bought!

Its the 17-50mm F2.8 Tamron lens!

I bought it 2nd hand though (RM880)..so the price is cheaper than the 1st hand- RM300++ saved. It is still in warranty and looks absolutely brand new (since the seller didn't use it that much) so I guess it was totally money worth spent here.

I didn't have much time in taking pictures with this new lens, but here's a picture that I took recently with it (and edited abit in Aperture).

I took it with a 17mm focal length. (Haven't experimented the lens in various focal lengths yet) I wonder how it would be if I took it at 10mm..i'm sure it would be tad spectacular!!

Ok, I was very surprised that, during the Arsenal Vs Malaysia match they were a group of Mat-Salleh's who wore the national jersey's of Malaysia.

I was like- WTF man..Mat-Salleh's in black and yellow!! Haha!

They were a lot of people who stopped by and took a photo with/of them at the stadium and to tell you guys the truth, one of the Mat Salleh's in the picture fell asleep during the 2nd half of the match.

Still, Kudos for them in cheering our National team.

Recently, in the month of July I've received two Internship/Work offers from Oil & Gas companies such as Centrionics (based in Malaysia) and ExxonMobil (based worldwide).

I was flattered to receive these offers and totally shocked, ~~that at the tender age of 20, I've received a few offers from such companies.~~

But, as flattered and interested I am regarding the offer, I had to reject the internship offer by Centrionics since it is based at Shah Alam (I have no relatives there..but friends, yes- I couldn't afford to stay at my friend's house for a one whole month, do I?)

Maybe once I've finished my studies, probably I could reconsider the internship offer again and just rent myself a house and I might have my own transportation.

Still, regarding the ExxonMobil offer, after much debate with fellow forummers and Google search on the internet, I assume that it's a hoax.

That email did made a job good in convincing me that it was from ExxonMobil. But, oh well, you're messing with the wrong fella.

Single Payment by Credit/Debit card on 05 October 2011 (I chose this, which basically means that i'm going to pay my residence charges on the date issued)

Installments (you'll be paying a certain amount of money using your card)

Once you've decided on which type of payments that you would like to choose, key in your card details and everything. Once done, you'll be sent to a verification page.

After keying your verification codes- your done!!

Fashion Statement?

I'm not really a fashion guy and I dont wear any fancy clothes that costs thousands-

But recently, when it comes to jackets/sweaters or coats, I am a bit picky.

Winter is coming up at Sheffield (I know, its on December, its probably Spring now) but I've been scouting some coats and jackets and i'm stuck with three choices.

Zara's Trench Coat (RM399)

Zara's Linen Jacket With Faux Suede (RM279)

And Diesel's Scron Cowl Neck Hooded Sweat (80 pounds)

What do you guys think? I'm thinking of looking for other brands and styles first, but these three really fits the bill for my wallet.

I kinda like the linen jacket though-

Nile Cruise

I still remembered that a few years ago- I rode the Sarawak River Cruise in which I sat on a big cruise ship and watch the scenes of my city; the city of Kuching.

Did I enjoy it?

Not that much- it was pretty boring. Luckily I had a free ticket, otherwise it would've been a bummer to pay RM30++ for a ride. One thing positive about the cruise was it had free refreshments, though the refreshments was only a few slices of layer cakes and cordial drinks.

If money was not an issue, one of my biggest travel dreams is to get into a holiday trip- to exotic cities such Strasbourg, Cologne and even Vienna and enjoy a Nile cruise- travelling from port to port from each city; where each city is famed for its exclusivity and history.

Imagine- sitting on a cruise ship on a perfectly fine and perfect weather, with a glass of your favourite drink and accompanied with your loved ones.

What an experience would that be, eh?

Besides, after watching scenes of Venice, (my word, what a beautiful city it is-) in the movie of The Tourist, there's no better excuse to enjoy a cruise and experience the wonders of our world.

Liverpool Vs Malaysia- Incredible. Totally, totally incredible!

You know,

They say- "Form is temporary, but CLASS, is permanent"

That was what I saw, at Bukit Jalil National Stadium at KL, last Saturday, when Liverpool condemned Malaysia XI in a 6-3 demolition during the Liverpool Vs Malaysia match.

Not bad; considering that most of the 1st team Liverpool players are absent. (The likes of Suarez, Lucas, Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Reina and co)

As the King himself said- no one is bigger than the club and that statement was absolutely true when an array of 37000 liverpudlians swarm in the Bukit Jalil stadium during the training session and more than 80000 fans turned up during the match!!

Lagi ramai dari BERSIH rally YO!!

Watching glimpses of the Liverpool players such as Carroll, "Kunyit", Maxi, Aquilani and Adam really made my KL trip simply worth it. Not to mention the Arsenal team too, I had fun watching them, but not as fun as watching my favourite team live in action.

Here's some of my best snaps that I took during the training session and the match. I hope you guys enjoy it, as much as I do! ;) (I had a hard time taking pictures with my 55-200mm f5.6 zoom lens..a faster aperture could really do the trick- mostof my pictures suffered from vignette when zoomed at 200mm!)

PICSSSSS!!!!!

It was one of the most valuable experience that I've had thus far in my whole life, watching Liverpool in a packed Bukit Jalil Stadium. Every goal was cheered with a roar of screams, yells and shrieks. When Safee scored the third goal for Malaysia- I almost dropped down from my seat when I was celebrating the goal.

Good stuff.

I was a bit disappointed though- that during the meet and greet player sessions at Pavilion, only people who had passes could get the players autographs..I really wanted them to sign one of my Liverpool jerseys..but, what the heck, better luck next time I guess.

I wonder when could I see them live in Anfield?

Hmmm...one day..i guess..maybe one day..

Hi guys! Here's a quick update- yesterday I've watched the Liverpool training match..it was totally awesome! A lot of fans turned up in the stadium; dare I say that it was 2 or 3 times the spectator of the ones who attended the Arsenal training session.

I'll upload the pics when I get back home this Sunday. Was totally tired yesterday and today i'll be on my way to Pavilion to go and attend the Meet and Greet session with the Liverpool players!

Arsenal Vs Malaysia [The Aftermath]

Me and my group of friends left home as early as 4pm and reached Bukit Jalil stadium at 4.30p.m. and to my astonishment, there's a lot of people are already here, waiting to enter the stadium.

People started to queue up infront of the stadium at 5p.m..and we got in, exactly at 6p.m. My seatings were at the yellow gate and honestly guys, I didn't enjoy my time that much when I was watching the match live.

Arsenal was very good, there's no doubt about it- during the first half they deployed most of their 2nd team team and Malaysia was totally awful and wasteful on possession. Theo Walcott's goal was perfectly executed and there was even spectators sleeping since the game was totally one sided. (Malaysia merely attacked the Arsenal defence).

When Nasri, Van Persie and Sagna came in, that was when the stadium roared and cheered gleefully. Sad to see that Malaysia couldn't break their duck against Arsenal, otherwise it would be a good match, overall.

It was one hell of a day at KL today. Going back and forth in KL meeting with representatives of MARA and UniKL was really tiring- but, as we arrived at Bukit Jalil, approximately on 6pm, our spirits were totally high up in the sky. ~~(Okay..lame sentence)~~

Soooo..anyways, It's Arsenal- beybeh! And it was their training session.

Pics- As always.

It was totally fun to watch the team live at the stadium; especially when the keeper saved a few shots from the Arsenal players. Totally wow-ed. Van Persie does has this thing on his shots- venomous. There were a lot of fans cheering on the team- but too bad i'm a Liverpool fan; still, it was a pleasure to see them passing the ball around. Can't wait to see Liverpool this coming Thursday!

Hope you guys enjoyed the training session pictures. Arsenal Vs Malaysia on 8.45pm, Wednesday. Who will prevail?

I'm guessing its a 3-1 win to Arsenal.

That's a photo of the KL monorail which was shot using my Nikon a year ago.

During these few month's i've been lazy to snap some pictures. I still remember when I got my first DSLR 2 years back, damn- i took photo's like crazy!

But then I don't know why, the passion seems to fade. Like last time, I used to shoot street photography a lot but then..probably i'm lazy. I'm becoming a couch potato during these holidays!

And oh, i'll be adding a new lens on my gear list, probably on next week; i'm sure that'll bring those burning desire to shoot photo's come at full force!

Stylish- damn those sexy curves of hers..
Environmental Friendly- Hybrid, so less CO2 emission. (I know, that sounds totally dope)
Economical- Atleast I could save a lot of $$$ in terms of fuel consumption.
Affordable- It's RM90k; a realistic target, I must say!!

Your Definitive Guide For Kuching Travellers!! Part 3

Ok, this would be the final inclusion of Your Definitive Guide For Kuching Travellers, the series.

There's nothing much for me to write about in this post, as we head in to BAKO NATIONAL PARK, our last final destination before my friends head back to the peninsular on tomorrow afternoon.

For those who's interested, there's a bus, (Rapid Kuching), where travellers could go to Bako from the city of Kuching for only RM3.50.

Seriously though, visiting Kuching would not be complete without visiting Bako national park. The best time to visit Bako would be on the morning, because you'll need a lot of time to explore Bako!

Phew, that's a lot of pics to be uploaded!!! Looks awesome, huh? We trailed, hiked, walked and swam from 8am to 2p.m and seriously the trip was soooo much fun!! The boat trip costs us RM90 and the tickets for the park is only RM5. The trip is still fresh in my memory. What a trip it was. When we went back, we ate lunch at Hartz chicken and slept at the evening.

And during the night, it was TOPSPOT!!

Oyster Egg Pancake + Sweet and Sour Tilapia Fish + Midin Sambal Belacan and Butter Prawn with some bowls of rice was only RM75! That's considered cheap for a seafood dinner meal for 4 persons.

Visiting Kuching would not be complete without the ever famous Ikan Terubok Masin and Kek Lapis Sarawak! On the day my friends were going back, my parents gave them Ikan Terubok Masin which could be bought at the Satok Wet Market and I bought them to one of the best Kuching Kek Lapis Sarawak shop, Lapis Sari. They bought a lot of Kek Lapis on that day and one of the best things about the Kek Lapis sold at Lapis Sari was they had this vacuum pack that could prevent the cake from getting spoilt.

When they arrived at the airport, clearly I could see their sad faces- especially Mat, because he wanted to get close and personal with a Sarawakian girl- atleast, but to no avail. Better luck next time, friend. Haha.

And oh. Let's end this entry with this pic, shall we?

Even Pakatan conquers the sea now. WTF.

Your Definitive Guide For Kuching Travellers!! Part 2

Hello.

I hope that first part didn't bore you- but i'm sure, the 3rd, 4th and final day at Kuching was simply a blast.

It was Saturday during their 3rd day here in Kuching and I was interested with this new "Eco Theme Park" at Matang area- called

"Sinar Serapi Eco Theme Park".

It was a 20 minute drive from Kuching and from what I've heard from blogs and reviews they say that Sinar Serapi was totally worth the trip. The one that I really look forward was you can kayak and play jet ski at the theme park, for a payment of RM20 and RM60 an hour. As we arrived Sinar Serapi and entered the place; it was totally disappointing.

(Luckily we didn't pay for the entrance fee's..we came in using the exit door and straight away went back to the car). Eco Theme Park? Meh.

Feeling frustrated, we decided to journey on Matang Family Park.

So Matang Family Park it is.

It does sound boring you know- FAMILY PARK. Why the hell we're interested to go to a family park anyways?

The entrance fee to the park was only RM3 and honestly, guys, the trip was simply worth it.

Have you guys tried river crossing before? If you guys havent, then I think this would be the best place to try it. Matang Family Park has two area's, Stage 1 and Stage 2. The one that we entered was Stage 2 and to enter Stage 1, you have to walk 2km through an easy jungle trail. At Stage 1, people were absent as most of them went at Stage 2, so we had the privilege to camwhore and splash around like mad goats. The rivers are very clear.

(Izhan accidently swam while having his phone inside his pocket. Luckily his phone survived!)

We wanted to trail further south of Stage 1, but we couldn't take the risk and we head back to Stage 2 after an hour or so swimming at the river. The best thing about Stage 2 was there's a mini-waterfall at the end; but you have to cross the river, which is very, very challenging to me. To those of you who's lazy, you can walk through the hills and walk down from a cliff. It's not that dangerous, but it's safe.

So to speak, we had a blast at Matang Family Park. RM3, again, well spent.

Meanwhile, Faris, in particular, said that he came to Sarawak because he wanted to try those "ulat".

You mean, "ulat sago", Faris?

Determined, we went to the Satok's night flea market to search for that "unique" delicacy of his and sadly, we couldn't find any (They ended up buying souvenirs instead). I thought Satok's night flea market do have those "ulat", right? I'm not too sure, but still, it was fun going to the flea market. It's been a long time since i've been here. I miss visiting the comic shop where they always had those GTO, Dragon Ball comics and they still have it, btw!

Speaking of Kuching, Kuching travellers, must atleast visit the so called biggest shopping mall in Sarawak, which is The Spring. We went there a bit late tho, around 10pm so we decided to watch a movie at MBO. Surprisingly they said that The Spring was quite nice. Absolute shocker.

That was how the 3rd day was done.

The fourth day, however was a bit boring since we were very tired the night before. Swimming, trekking and river crossing on the day, and pasar malam, movies on the night. We plan to go to Matang Wildlife Centre in the morning but we overslept. So we skipped the plan and did some light travelling and took some rest. (For jungle trekkers/animal lovers, go to Matang Wildlife Park if you're interested, it's fun! A lot of exotic animals and trails awaiting for you, there! The entrance fee is cheap if im not mistaken- it's less than RM10)

We went to the Kuching museum, located next to Merdeka palace (for museum lovers, visit the cat's museum at Jalan Semariang or the Islamic museum which is 5mins walk from the Kuching museum) and Astana, which is near the Dun building to snap some close-up photo's of the DUN building. I still find it weird, why citizen's can't enter that building. I mean, we paid tax and all that. Atleast give us permission to enter and see the insides of the building ~~goddamnit~~. At Astana, you can visit the orchid garden and to tell you the truth, its nothing special.

We spent the night by hanging out at Safwan's place. Me and my friends, including Safwan studied at the same college and after spending the night out at Safwan's crib, we went to Mc' Donalds and hang out at waterfront. We slept early that night, because..

Tomorrow, ADVENTURE, await's us!!!

Your Definitive Guide For Kuching Travellers!! Part 1

Fuck.

I think i didn't update my blog for more than a week! Sorry peeps! Been busy these few days since my friends from the peninsular are coming over to stay at my place, and visit my home-

Kuching.

You know, I never really travelled the whole Kuching. The only place that I know was the *cough* Spring, Arena Sukan and KGS- since those are the places that I visit regularly for movies, futsal and tennis. I wished that I had the time, and a few friends to travel along and explore Kuching.

And, definitely, this is the perfect timing.

Totally perfect.

My friends had a limited budget, particularly around RM200 and they were staying for 6 days and 5 nights at Kuching. 6 days. And 5 nights. Fuck this. What do I have in store for them?

1st Day.

As the 3 of my friends arrived in Kuching, (Faris, Mat and Izhan), the first place that I've brought them were Swee Kang. Swee Kang is a very popular place to eat ice-kacang and rojak and is usually full during lunch hour and tea time. When we arrived, we had to wait a while to get some seats as they were fully seated with customers! We ordered the popular, White Lady, (RM2.70 a glass), a very sweet cocktail, with lots of fruits and jellies inside, and with a whip of milk.

There was this crispy tauhu and jellyfish rojak, which we added into our order; and it was very addictive to munch on. Money was truly well spent.

After enjoying those white ladies and rojak- our next destination was the Kuching Waterfront. Me and my friends used the boat or a.k.a Sampan from my kampung to cross the Sarawak river and the journey, much to my astonishment, was fun indeed. (It's been a very long time since i used the boat to go to the city; car was always the 1st option). The ride cost 50cents. During my school years it cost only 30cents and still, they are some passengers who reluctantly didn't pay the fares.

Crossing the Sarawak River ain't free, mate.

So. We strolled past the waterfront, chinatown, main bazaar and the old court house- nothing amazing there and we ate at John's Place for dinner. From my personal view, John's Place has the best Kuay Teow Kerang in town! (If you eat it with their sambal). I call it Kuay Teow Sambal btw. The paste (sambal) has this very hot, salty and fishy taste (almost similar to sambal nasi lemak) and very addictive, too. Order one Kuay Teow Sambal, and i'm sure you'll ask for more sambal! The Sotong Goreng Sambal ain't bad too.

John's place is located beside Harvour View Hotel. The place has lantern's up on their ceilings. Go check them out if u have the time! :)

After dinner, the four of us walked our way to the Medan Pelita building and went to the highest floor. The Medan Pelita was a very popular place to watch movies during back then..I still remembered I always went there to play arcades and 4WD mini tournaments.

At the highest floor, you could particularly see some parts Kuching City. Go during nighttime and appreciate those buzzing lights coming from the shoplots and streetlights of Kuching. Free of charge.

The 2nd day we went to visit the Jamek Mosque, located near the State Library of Sarawak for Friday Prayers. To those of you who craves for (the best) Sarawak Laksa and Mee Kolok, try visiting Ceria Cafe, opposite Choice Food at Satok and Sepinang Sari, beside Maybank at Satok builiding. To me they have the best Laksa and Kolok taste. Hehe. After our Friday prayers, we went to visit the Civic centre, and visited the Dewan Suarah building.

There, you could use the lift and see the WHOLE CITY OF KUCHING. No kidding man. Better than the Medan Pelita view. Sad that seldom people visit here and besides, it's free of charge too. (It's off limits during nighttime btw).

Wisma Saberkas, the Sarawakian Lowyat- I call it, was the next destination. My friends wanted to take a look at it and this was their respond.

"Atleast it's better than Bukit Jambul"

Eeerrrr...yeah. Bukit Jambul. =.=

Okkkkk...soooooooo...after window shopping at the so called Sarawakian Lowyat, me and my friends head to the Permai Beach.

At Permai, you could do a lot of fun activities such as kayaking, boating, trekking and lots more. It's a 30mins drive from Kuching and the entrance fee to the beach it RM5. RM4 if you bring ur student id along. =P. (Instead of going to the beach, first time Kuching travellers should go to the Kampung Budaya and experience the cultures of Sarawak! The tickets, for me, are quite expensive, RM60 for adults so me and friends decided to axe this spot.)

We wanted to play Kayaking at first and it costs RM20 an hour. To our disappointment, when we arrived at the beach, it was raining and the supervisor had to cancel all the kayaking activities and kayak equipment rentals. We brought a ball along though, so it wasn't that boring and met some new friends too, some fellow nigerians.

The beach was beautiful. I love the way the sea looks when I was swimming at the middle of the sea..very calm, and soothing. After having fun at the beach, we went to the jungle pool, located at the hilltop of the beach.

The 2nd day, ended with a dinner at Kampung Boyan. We ordered mee crispy hong kong, but it was finished, so we ordered some ordinary dishes like nasi ayam blackpepper, nasi goreng kampung and Izhan, who's the only one-

Ordered nasi Tsunami.

WTF? Looks like nasi pattaya with some kuah to me. Hahaha. =.="""

Life- It's Like That.

I never knew that dream, could be a reality.

I was just a normal kampung boy, who once played with longkangs, played gudi, played seremban, followed the kampung's current trend- kreta dash, digimons, beyblades and crushgears. Swam the Sarawak river?

Occasionally, yes.

Come secondary school it turns out to be very exciting-

Hanging out with mat rempits, cikaro's and even mat pit was like any other normal day- they were funny, and no, i don't do those rempit, flirt and hisap dadah- its not my thang anyways. Cyber cafe's were like my 2nd home and I've spent a lot of my allowances given by my parents just to play games, especially Counter-Strike and Ragnarok.

I was willing to walk from my house, took a sampan ride to cross the Sarawak river and travel 40mins with my cousins to go to CC. Talk about commitment.

I was not smart in school..at class I'll usually get number 20++ and I was only good in maths and science. I hate those geography and history classes- to me they were useless. I never get the idea of learning them as I had a very weak memory.

And there comes PMR, I only had 4A's..and 4B's..and compared with my mates..most of them got better results than me. I didn't complaint about my results and I thought I did okay. My parents gave me money, as a sign of motivation; RM400 if im not mistaken..and i used it to buy myself my first set of headphones..and a pair of football boots. (Very boros, huh?)

As form 4 started, life was gradually changing and that was when I've step into the world of teenagers.
Seeing my friends going to smart classes did made me a bit lonely as I didn't had those usual chats and laughters together. In form 4, too, i've started studying during evenings and weekends, at the state library.

Pustaka- tempat org blaja pake nge-up dirik..haha.

With hard work and preserverance- I've got 9A's in my SPM..a very big achievement from what I've got from PMR..everyone was shocked- including myself. I couldn't believe it. 9A's was like- WTF?!!

I've spent my SPM holidays in becoming an addmaths and maths teacher. The experience was totally unforgettable and it really taught me in how blessed I were to have a teacher in school.

I applied a lot of scholarships and sadly I've got none of it and I ended up studying at UiTM Shah Alam for my foundation course..and a month later, that was when I received a call, telling me that I've got the oppurnity to study overseas by MARA.

I met a lot of friends when I was at UiTM..I really miss them..especially my classmates and roommates..I cried when I leave UiTM..it was a place that I felt very comfortable with..tho there were only 2 Sarawakians for the whole foundation course.

Studying at Kolej MARA Kuala Nerang was different from UiTM and I've met a lot of friends too- crazy, unsocial and talkative- everything. Not to mention I've got 4.00 for both semesters at Kuala Nerang and I was really proud of my achievements. During my time at the peninsular I enjoyed travelling with my friends, where I could see how modern it is the peninsular were. (But nothing could be compared to home). At UniKL i've achieved an overall grade of A-, confirming my placement at University of Sheffield.

Something, I thought that couldn't happen. Something- that I've dreamed off where someday I'll study overseas really did became a reality, after all.

Watching my other kampung friends playing futsal and kites during the evening, merempit, swimming at the Sarawak River or whatever activity that they're doing kept me thinking-

I was once one of them too, and now I'm carrying a burden on my shoulder-

As a student, who's going to study at a place for the white-people and graduate, with a first-class degree and contribute, to my nation, and to them, too.

I consider myself very lucky indeed, and I thank everyone who has helped me for making who I am today.

And oh, why the hell am I writing this?

I'm not bragging, exaggerating or complaining; BUT

LIFE- IT'S LIKE THAT.

Penah sik takorang time kecik2 dolok main gudi? Orang kampung mekorang ngelar "layang-layang" gudi. Lekak skolah, tunggu petang ari kakya mbak benang ngan gudi pegi keluar rami2 ngan kawan2 main.

Nektok jarang nanga biak kecik main benda gitok..biak kecik nektok suma main X-boxlah, PS-3lah..neda sidak maok main permainan tradisional..haha

Rindu juak ku ngan zaman kecik2 dolok..sigh. Ada2 jak bekelai berebut gudi mun nya tegugok dari langit. Sampe btumbok2 ada juak.

Harvest Festival~!

I was one of the few selected bloggers lucky enough to be called upon to experience "A Culinary Tribute to Harvest Festival" at Orchid Garden, Grand Margherita Hotel, Kuching which is officially launched by the Assistant Minister of Tourism Sarawak.

Along with Kim, Eli, Chim, Fahrie and Eve we enjoyed different types of delish mouth-watering dishes such as Pansuh Manok, Pansuh Ikein, Kasam Ikien Bekuk, Kasam Jerak, Sungkoi Tumpi, Sup Ikan Tilapia Terung Assam Dayak, Kueh Tebeduk (some of the few selections of the local authentic dishes of the Sarawak natives) and a lot more.

All of them- buffet style!!

We ate as much as we could, (Eli ate the most) and filled our stomachs really-really full.

Buffet what. Buffet is the only place where you could eat as much as you could ~~and the best thing was- we could enjoy the food for free!~~ :P.

I like those Pansuh dishes the most, while the Kasam is a bit too salty for my liking since it is preserved with salt before it is cooked. The Kueh Tebeduk was very nice, sweet and soft in texture and the soup, is very-very rich.

Nevertheless, the foods were awesome!

These delicacies are usually served on Gawai day as everyone would gather and celebrate a bountiful harvest. I'm sure these dishes could fulfill your exotic taste buds in no time!

And oh, Grand Margherita Hotel is currently having the "Harvest Festival" promotion for the whole month of June!

All of the dishes mentioned and shown at the pictures are available at the ala-carte menu and it is available for lunch and dinner from now till the 30th of June 2011.

MEE CRISPY TOMATO!!!

Boasting a price of RM4.50, I'd say this scrumptious mee crispy tomato was worth every penny i've paid for.

While I was having a walk around Kampung Boyan I was getting a lil' bit hungry and old pal "warung pak lah" was always there to welcome their customers.

The crispiness of the mee and the tender thick tomato sauce coupled with a chunk of prawn and chicken meat was totally fucking-

DELICIOUSSSSSSS!!!!

I've received a letter today, though it was marked:

9th of May 2011 on the front face of the letter.

Inside the letter there was 2 books, entitled- "Home From Home" and "Information For New International Students 2011-12".

I wasn't interested on the letter, nor the 2nd book, but, "Home From Home" was truly an interesting read.

Inside the book there's a few pictures of the 3 University accommodation to date;

The Endcliffe Village (Cheapest: 3810.24 pounds, the surroundings are very nice)
The Ranmoor Village (Cheapest: 4577.58 pounds, en-suite)
The City Centre (Cheapest: 3810.24 pounds)

From my understanding and a few researches,

Endcliffe is the most sociable and fun so far, while Ranmoor is to those of you who prefer quiet and peaceful living. City centre, basically, is near to the city, of course and closest to the engineering faculty.

I've asked a few of our Iprom mates regarding their accomodations and most of them applied The City Centre. I'm still unsure regarding my application though and I haven't received my official results yet.

I know Micet student's haven't applied yet..so I urge to those of you please discuss, where do you guys prefer to stay?

I prefer Endcliffe. :p (City centre sounds nice too, since it is the nearest to the engineering faculty but the rooms kinda look disappointing compared to Endcliffe and Ranmoor)

Congratulations!

I know the tension is totally unbearable, the stress is totally unfuckable and i'm sure you guys totally deserved all the credits!

It's never easy, to score an average of 70% for our exams and it's never easy, to score an average of 6.5 for IELTS- but, above all that, given the opportunity to study overseas, is a one fucking big achievement!!

Though i'm not an avid Arsenal fan..but thanks to Abdul Hakim, I could finally see them live at Malaysia! He bought me the RM58 tickets and it comes along with training session pass.

I'm still waiting for my Liverpool tickets though, Tan sent it through pos ekspres, so i would be expecting it by next week!

I met a friend of mine recently when I went for my friday prayers and asked me why didn't I watch the Chelsea game? It's like..alang2 what.

Mee Kolok!!

For every Kuchingnite, Mee Kolok is a must when we're in Kuching. When I was studying at the Peninsular I was dreaming of eating Mee Kolok once i've arrived home.

I went to Kopi O' Corner for lunch today and was very satisfied to fill my tummy with a bowl of Mee Kolok..though I wanted Mee Pok (another type of Mee Kolok) but it was sold out!

I still remember those times when my dad used to bring me to eat Mee Kolok Hj. Salleh at the Satok area..ahhh..good times.

Nothing tastes as good as the food from your hometown, eh?

P:S//Suprisingly the price for Mee Kolok somehow increased to RM4..it was RM3.50 before this..and was RM3 when I was a kid. Waaaa...

This was a photo of a car, which is a pontiac mustang- taken at Putrajaya. The car is very big..and if im not mistaken the length of the car is almost similar as a limousine!

Gosh. I think its been a few weeks since i've last updated my blog. Sorry guys!!!!!!

I was attending kursus BTN- kursus Biro Tata Negara. It took me 5 days and it was totally awesome! (For me lah..hehe) I'll write about BTN (and many other posts as well) as soon as i'm at Kuching. (I didn't bring my laptop and broadband along..so it was hard for me to update anything-facebook, blog, twitter, emails..etc) and I'll be back on this Tuesday, evening.

Again, i'm sorry for the inactivity. It was a busy month of May for me and I can't wait to spend those holidays at home! :D

New Pair Of Shoes

I bought a new pair of shoes recently and I absolutely love them!

I'm not a big fan of shoes- nor a shoe collector, but I find that its necessary for me to buy another pair of shoes, for jog and for streetwear.

So now I have 5 pairs of shoes in total (I know some of you guys have 10. Or more). And each one of them serves a different purpose. (Not forgetting different brands too! hehe)

For those who's curious, here's some of the pictures of the shoes.

What do guys think? Canteeeekkkk kannnn? hehehehe. I like that fact that it doesn't really looks like a running shoe- its like, a sneakers, which functions as a running shoe! :p

After taking some snapshots of this lovely pair, I went out jogging with em' and I was surprised how comfortable they were! Every step when I jog was like stepping on a cushion surface. Too bad I couldn't jog that long tho, my ankle was ruining the day- have to improve my fitness level when i'm over with btn.

I never felt this dull when i'm in Kuching.

Yesterday I went to the Spring, all alone and it doesn't really feel the same walking without friends.

Most of my friends are still studying and having some camps; i've been itching to meet them and it's been a while since i've talk in Sarawakian language. I've accidently talked in peninsular dialect to the cashier when I bought a book at MPH.

"Kak, buku ni satu ea...saye nak bayar pakai voucher.."

Where it should've been-

"Kak, buku tok sigek..kmk mok bayar pakei voucher.."

TDP UK Dinner

A year has passed and not many could've imagine how fast time flies. Everyone was looking forward to the end of this semester and i'm sure everyone, insyaAllah, will go to our respective UK universities after this.

Though we were taken as one batch during college and then separated to our respective universities according to our courses, but, meeting everyone back at the dinner was something that truly gives that kind of special moment- a memory.

We took a lot of pictures, and here's some of the best bits that i'd like to share.

I'll miss you guys, thats for sure.

Anyways, it was such a fun-filled day that night. Sad that we had to go earlier though. The food was superb, especially the lamb chop (Cepat gile habisss!!!!) and congratulations to Marinah, Hazeem and Michelle for the best student award!

Here, I would like to thank my lecturers, who gave their all to teach us during our stay at UniKL and their support and dedication. Not forgetting to our sponsors too, MARA, for giving us the opportunity to study overseas!
